Story-4:: Places To Visit, Things to Do

Overview: New Balance opens New Retail Concept in Boston, at 124 Newbury Street in Boston, Mass. The fresh retail concept is built to put people, not products, at the center of the consumer experience. Designed around central seating gestures, the store aims to encourage customers to convene, draw inspiration from each other, and find their authentic style.

The concept will include an edited assortment of merchandise as well as visual storytelling to accompany select products, highlighting the makers and origins behind them, and illuminating New Balance at the intersection of sport and culture. The selection of footwear and apparel will be curated so both an elite athlete and a fashion influencer can each envision their next great moment, side by side.

“This store represents a big step forward in the way we think about our retail environment, featuring a much tighter, more focused collection built specifically for the younger consumer,” said Ian Fitzpatrick, Senior Director of Global Brand Strategy and Operations at New Balance. “The space is not built to tell all our stories, just those most relevant to our consumers – a shift that reflects our intention to invite new audiences to discover the brand, maybe for the first time.”

The Boston store is the second of its kind globally with the first store of the same concept opening in Guangzhou, China in December 2022. The Boston location will have store hours of Monday – Saturday, 10AM – 7PM and Sunday 11AM – 6PM.

Story-5:: SNKRS NEWS - AirMax Day (March 26th)

Overview: Nike AirMax Day is an annual celebration of Nike's iconic AirMax sneaker line, held on March 26th each year. The day was first celebrated in 2014, on the 27th anniversary of the release of the original AirMax shoe in 1987.

The AirMax was a groundbreaking sneaker design that featured a visible air cushioning unit in the sole, providing unprecedented comfort and support for athletes and sneaker enthusiasts alike. The AirMax quickly became one of Nike's most popular and enduring sneaker lines, with new styles and colorways released regularly.

Nike AirMax Day is a chance for sneakerheads and fans of the AirMax line to come together and celebrate the history and culture of this iconic shoe. The day is marked by special releases of new AirMax styles and colorways, as well as events, pop-up shops, and other activities hosted by Nike and its partners around the world. What makes AirMax Day special is the passion and enthusiasm of the AirMax community, who come together each year to share their love of the iconic sneaker line. From collectors to casual fans, everyone has their favorite AirMax style or colorway, and AirMax Day is a chance to celebrate that shared love and appreciation.

Now, I have a love hate relationship with Airmax, mostly cause I am wide footer, so I have missed on sizing over the years. But if I look back, I have been lucky enough to get some serious heat from the good people at Nike by way of the St. John’s (@stjohnsredstorm). So when I saw the Nike Air Max 1 “Baltic Blue, or better said, Dailey Blend Blue, I knew I needed those in my life. Hopefully will be able to pick these up before Airmax Day.
