Each week we highlight five things we thought were interesting, notable, or culturally significant. This week we are showcasing stories on Ean Golden as he lives streams a DJ Class, the all-new Apple iPad Pro, Virgil Abloh’s latest playlist, and how you can invest in SNKRS. These “Friday Top Five’s” updates are available each week on DaileyBlend.com or by Subscribing to the Dailey Blend Newsletter.
Story-1:: Livestream DJ Lesson with Ean Golden
Overview: To inspire and help the DJ community during difficult times, Ean Golden is streaming a DJ lesson on our YouTube channel! Tune in and say hello at 1PM EST / 10AM PST / 5PM GMT
Why It Matters: Founder of DJ TechTools, an online DJ Community, Blog/News Channels, and Product Developer, and Store. Is helping those in need/who have a little more time on their hands by providing a DJ Class live on Youtube. Some of you will read this story and be able to tune in live. Others will see this post and have the opportunity to watch it at a later time. Regardless of your disposition, this is an example of a generational shift that is happening and is being accelerated by C-19. I am 100% for physical interaction, it is just better, but it doesn’t mean it is required. You can do t80 maybe 90% of all things through web-ex, Skype, FaceTime, Google Hangout, etc. etc. etc. that you could do in “Real World.” While many were always saying, you need to be onsite, I think people are going to learn that no, you really don’t and by the way, the remote work is more cost-effective, as if not more efficient, and can work for our needs.

Story-2:: Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies 2020
Overview: Read on to see how these and dozens more inspiring accomplishments are driving this year’s list of the World’s Most Innovative Companies.
Why It Matters: It is always interesting to read about the most innovative companies, I always walk away from this series feels excited, energized, and ready to take over the world due to the inspiring examples of good work and ideas, broken down into multiple categories including Advertising, Film & TV, Gaming, Retail, & Social Media. Interesting that Microsoft climbed back into the list. For so long MS was viewed as corporate boring, but they seem to have really made a turn for the better and have completely embraced the idea of collaboration. I have to admit that while Rothy’s is on this list, I am really frustrated they won’t come out with Men’s shoes… Just saying….
Story-3:: Apple – New iPad Pro
Overview: Apple has finally made the iPad a potential Laptop Killer. Only time will tell, but I am hopeful.
Why It Matters: Apple has finally made an iPad that has a keyboard, a trackpad (mouse), and a posture to support using it more like a computer. Most of us saw this coming when they released the 12-Beta and there was a feature to use a mouse barred in the features for a different purpose. But now they are brining the feature mainstream and I could not be more pleased. The only catch I see with this device is the fact that the device is ~$900 and with the keyboard being a separate at cost $299; a fact Apple cleverly downplayed. Let’s hope that their parties come out with a competing product for much less money.

Story-4:: Sneaker Investing
Overview: This set of 5 Air Jordans from 1985 was valued at $33,000, and individuals could buy a share for just $33. The idea is that the price will continue to rise, and so your stake could appreciate significantly.
Why It Matters: SNKRS and Sneaker resale market are about to cross over the $2B mark. Now the business is letting potential investors buy a share of a collection of classic shoes. While this tactic of community investing is not new, it is the first time we are seeing it in such things as SNKR culture. The overview deck linked below

Story-5:: Virgil Abloh’s Lockdown Playlist
Overview: Last week we featured a story stating a question back to all readers, ‘Is Abloh’s this generation Karl Lagerfeld?” While I am noting to try to debate is he or isn’t he. I am going to state that he is influencing a whole new generation of creatives across a wide variety of mediums and platforms. One of those platforms is music. It has been well documented that Abloh is a massive fan of music always. To add to the mix, he is a DJ in his own right, playing such shows as Coachella to underground clubs around the globe.
Why It Matters: Due to the amount of travel Abloh ‘typically’ makes around the globe, he is one of the few DJ’s who is on the pulse across the main stream, the underground, the high-end, from techno to hip-hop. It is really interesting to listed to his mixes, they jump from genre to genre and span a range of influences most would not logically connect, but makes total sense when the ultimate composure pulls them together.
