Each week we highlight five things we thought were interesting, notable, or culturally significant. This week we are showcasing how Paloma Azulay is going to teach America that Popeyes is more than just chicken, how SEALS deal with Change, how Guy Fieri blocks and tackles with his team, a music content provider has returned from the shadows, and a silly fun video, because why the hell now. These “Friday Top Five’s” updates are available each week on DaileyBlend.com or by Subscribing to the Dailey Blend Newsletter.
Story-1:: 10 Principles for Leading Through Change: A Navy SEAL’s Approach
Overview: To inspire and help the DJ community during difficult times, Ean Golden is streaming a DJ lesson on our YouTuIt wasn’t long after I left the SEAL Teams, attended graduate school, and started the first company that I realized change is a consistent reality in today’s more volatile and disruptive business landscape. It affects all businesses. All industries. Now more than ever before.
Why It Matters: I thought this was a very timely article based on the current situation and thinking through how change is always going to happen, but how to deal with it.

Story-2:: Paloma Azulay on building a strong brand beyond a strong product
Overview: Popeyes is viewed as No. 3 in the market in the U.S. and what Paloma talks about in the article is what her initials thought on what it will take to build the brand and change thinking. Driving into how they are revisiting the brand strategy, brand positioning, and their ability to articulate something that is very meaningful that goes beyond a hype.
Why It Matters: Build brands is a challenge, changing an association of what a brand is about, might be even harder. It is interesting to hear from someone like Paloma about how she plans to approach the challenge, where she see opportunities, and how Popeyes must think differently.

Story-3:: How Guy Fieri gets it done with his busy schedule
Overview: Guy Fieri Is Insanely Busy. Here’s How He Gets It All Done.
“We have a system inside my company, Knuckle Sandwich, that generates tomorrow’s agenda by 5 o’clock the night before. We call it ‘the Lock,’ and it outlines all details of the day coming forward.” It’s the Herculean task of Fieri’s assistant to, as he describes it, “capture all the butterflies” and generate this hyperdetailed agenda. It’s obsessive on the minutiae, down to, say, the name and phone number of the driver taking Fieri to his photo shoot for this magazine. It puts everyone in the company on the same page and avoids wasting a busy person’s most precious commodity: time.
“This way, my staff knows not to call me at 2:30 in the afternoon, because they know I’m in a high-pressure interview with the badass from Entrepreneur magazine!” he says, laughing.
Why It Matters: In this new normal, people are having to learn to work and collaborate in new ways and be much more connected, coordinated, and communicating with each other. I work on the road multiple days a week, and this has been my world, but for many, it hasn’t. Over the coming weeks, I will be highlighting and linking to frameworks that will help you figure out your own ‘the lock.’

Story-4:: Beatport is BACK!!!!
Overview: Beatportal from Beatport is now back and live. To kick things off, they are streaming 24-Hour / 24-DJ / 24-Locations via their Twitch Channel twitch.tv/beatportofficial/videos
Why It Matters: Beatportal was the content play by Beatport.com. When times financially were difficult, Beatportal shut its doors. It appears they are back, and I could not be more pleased. Between Beatport.com (House Music) BeatSource.com (Open Format) and Beatportal.com (Content), I would say 2020 music-wise is looking up!!!

Story-5:: Robyn – Dancing On My Own (Movie Dance Compilation)
Overview: Dance scenes from various movies set to Robyn’s “Dancing on My Own.” Watch the One Direction “Best Song Ever” Compilation.
Why It Matters: There isn’t really anything insightful here, this was just a fun video and I felt like sharing it because we need a bit of fun in these times.
