Story-1: Salesforce Essentials gains new social media integrations and phone support
Overview: Salesforce announced new capabilities heading to Essentials designed to give companies more “personalized ways” to interact with their customers. “We all expect real-time instantaneous communication today — whether it’s with our family, friends, or favorite brands,” explained senior vice president of Salesforce Essentials Marie Rosecrans. “Now, Salesforce Essentials is giving small businesses the tools needed to manage customer communications across all those channels in one centralized spot.”
Essential is SalesForces' entry-level solution, think of it like when you got a bike with training wheels. The bike was there, you just had some added help to make sure you didn't fall to the ground. While the analogy is actually the opposite, in that SF Essentials actually has fewer things than it's the full-fledged older brother, you get the idea. For those who are less familiar with SalesForece or Essentials. SalesForces is the global leader in CRM (Customer Relationship Management). Think of this as the brain for your company that will power how your organization will connect and interact with customers and potential customers. A few years ago, SF decided to go down market and roll out essentials to middle market and small business at a fraction of the cost to their flagship solution. Essentials unlock 85% of what SF-CRM has to offer and allows organizations to take advantage of most of SF's ecosystem (app exchange).

Why It Matters: This video came out a couple of years ago and every six months or so I scroll back through my youtube history to find the name of the video. The key take way for me on this video, love what you do, find someone to help guide you to be the best version of who you can be, and experiment with ideas and concepts till you figure out you voice/style/approach etc.

Story-3: Tara Brach Smile Guided Meditation 10 Minute Daily Version
Overview: Tara Brach: Smile Guided Meditation 2010. Featured in the Tim Ferriss book Tools of Titans. This version has been condensed to 10 minutes, and imperfections in the audio have been corrected in the remastering process. Enjoy daily!
Why It Matters: I often find that if you don’t start off your day right, nothing else seems to go right throughout the day. That is why over the last few weeks, I have been re-examining how I start my days. What I am trying to figure out is if I should start each of my days the same or if there should be differences based on environment, what I am doing that day, day of the week etc. I don’t have an answer to this question, but will certainly have some insights on this topic soon.
Story-4: SoundCloud and Native Instruments now pair.
Overview: Soundcloud the audio platform has just announced its DJ software integration with Native Instruments. This software integration is now available in their new iPad and desktop app, TRAKTOR DJ 2. This means that DJ’s can now create a playlist in SoundCloud via a premium account and those songs are then available to use on Traktor DJ 2. If you can’t tell by now, I love DJing and music in general. BACK IN THE DAY…. one would have to go buy expensive records and lug them around from gig to gig. Fast forward a few years, and you had CD’s, then you have thumb drives and laptops. All this way great for the actual gig, but it was still a painfully long workflow of finding music, buying it, downloading it, uploading it to the content management system, opening up your DJ software, analyzing the songs, then playing them out. Now, I with SoundCloud (soon other platforms), you can just make a playlist, fire up your DJ software and you are off to the races.
Why It Matters: Three significant trends will emerge from this new open access. Since people will have access to the same music and at a fraction of the cost. Expect both DJ’s to become more creative with their sets, and you will likely see more modules gear to enable individuality. Second, music will continue to create sub-genres because more people will find a niche for their sound. Lastly, analytics will help artists and fans connect, which will help artists better monetize their music via ancillary services like tours and march.
