Music Mondays:: Goose

Artist Overview

Hey, have you heard of this band called Goose? They're a four-piece jam band from Connecticut that formed in 2013. The band consists of Rick Mitarotonda (guitar, vocals), Peter Anspach (guitar, vocals), Ben Atkind (bass), and Jesse Margolis (drums). They've gained quite the following in the jam band scene, and their live shows are known for their improvisational jams and energetic performances. They've released four studio albums, and their latest album, "Dripfield," just came out in 2022. Critics love Goose for their musicianship and ability to create a unique and immersive live experience. They've even been compared to other great jam bands like Phish, The Disco Biscuits, and Umphrey's McGee. Recently, Goose has been touring extensively and playing at major festivals like Bonnaroo, Lockn', and Peach Music Festival. If you're into jam bands or just looking for something new, I highly recommend checking out Goose. They're sure to put a smile on your face and make you want to dance.

Recently, I stumbled upon their logo and asked a friend of my wife's who is much younger about the band. They replied that it is not the Mighty Ducks but the band Goose! This realization made me feel old for the first time. That being said, if you want to check out their live recordings, you can stream their Chicago show below. You can also check them out via the following link for all their live shows.

Connect Online

MUSIC MONDAY SERIES

Scientists believe that listening to music in a group helps people to connect. This connection happens because the rhythm in the music helps people's brains synchronize. This allows them to coordinate their body movements. As a result, music can influence how we work in a group. While I wish we could all be at concerts together all the time, sadly, we can not. However, thanks to the internet, sites like Spotify, Soundcloud, and Youtube, we can share some fantastic artists making incredible music. Check out our other Music Monday posts.
