Music Mondays:: Pusha T aka King Push

Artist Overview

Terrence LeVarr Thornton, better known by his stage name Pusha T or King Push, was first discovered thanks to mixtapes by Clinton Sparks (@clintonsparks) and hits with his brother as part of the duo Clipse, 'Grindin' and 'What Happened to that boy,' produced by the Neptunes (@theneptunes). Then when he jumped on Kanye West's 'Runaway,' you saw its crossover appeal happen, and Pusha became a household name beyond just the hip-hop community. Regardless of how or when you were introduced to Push, he is the sound and story the streets, and always bring the heat with his music.

Album Overview

Daytona came out a few years back and was part of a slew of releases from Kanye West’s Wyoming Sessions that saw other releases from Kanye West himself with Kid Cubi under the name Kids See Ghosts, Teyana Taylor, and Nas. I often find that come holiday season, when it starts to get cold, I love the sound of heavy hiphop and Pusha T aka King Push doesn’t fail to delivery with his 2018 release Daytona. While the album is only a few tracks, 7-total, it is solid top to bottom with ‘The Games We Play’

MUSIC MONDAY SERIES

Scientists believe that listening to music in a group helps people to connect. This connection happens because the rhythm in the music helps people's brains synchronize. This allows them to coordinate their body movements. As a result, music can influence how we work in a group. While I wish we could all be at concerts together all the time, sadly, we can not. However, thanks to the internet, sites like Spotify, Soundcloud, and Youtube, we can share some fantastic artists making incredible music. Check out our other Music Monday posts.
