Artist Overview

50 Cent, born Curtis James Jackson III, is an American rapper, actor, and entrepreneur. He was born on July 6, 1975, in Queens, New York, and rose to fame in the early 2000s with the release of his debut album, "Get Rich or Die Tryin'." Thanks to it hitting its 20-year anniversary we are featuring it on our Throwback Thursday post.

"Get Rich or Die Tryin'" was a massive commercial success and has since been certified eight times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The album's hit singles, including "In da Club" and "21 Questions," helped 50 Cent become one of the best-selling and most successful rappers of his generation.

In addition to his music career, 50 Cent has also made a name for himself as an actor, appearing in films such as "Get Rich or Die Tryin'," "Southpaw," and "Den of Thieves." He has also worked as an executive producer on several television series, including "Power" and "For Life."

Throughout his career, 50 Cent has been known for his brash and provocative personality, as well as his outspoken views on a range of issues.
