I constantly get asked to help on projects, and the asks always take more time than the requester thinks they should. They also ask to compile and add up. So, thanks to a little bit of help from other Canva notion templates. I have developed my own. There are two tabs: the first is the individual tracker, and the second is the summary one.

Host Reed Dailey (IG & X - @ReedDailey): This is the weekly rundown segment of the Daily Blend Show

Hello Internet friends, and welcome back to the Dailey Blend show

Hello Internet friends, and welcome back to the Dailey Blend show with me, Reed Dailey. This is the week of June 3, 2024, and if you are tuning in stateside, it is summertime and I am fired up about it. We had a bit of a mixed bag over the weekend from Memorial Day where it was, you know, Saturday was amazing, Sunday was just, you know, downpour rain all day. And then, Monday sort of rounded us out with, you know, a pretty fantastic, outing. So, you know, we got to take the good with the bad, I guess. but yeah, let's be. Oh yeah. Before we jump in the show, this is on Apple Podcast, Spotify and YouTube. If you are a social person, and we are, you can check us out at Dailey Blend on Instagram and X.

Dailey Blend introduces innovative women's golf brands in brand spotlight series

And with all that that said, let's jump into the show. So if, you've been following around the, show lately, we've been doing way more about, the Dailey Blend golf project. And as part of that, I wanted to do brand spotlights or brand Spotlight of the week. And so we're going to kick this off, or before I kick it off, in terms of who we're talking about. The idea here was that we want to be introducing brands that we thought were innovative companies making waves in their industries. And each week we'll delve into the stories behind these brands, uncovering what makes them unique and why it's worth paying attention to. From startups distributing traditional markets to established players pushing the boundaries of innovation, our brand spotlight is your go to source for inspiration and insights, showing us as we celebrate the creative passion and resilience driving these brands forward and discover the stories behind the products and services shape in the future. Get ready to be inspired and motivated by a diverse array of brands will feature in our Spotlight series. So the idea here was that, you know, as we're kind of launching the golf projects and building in public, one of the big things I want to do, ah, as part of not just building in public and getting a sense of what others are doing, but like really building a community of these, you know, independent golf brands that are launching around the world and doing some fantastic stuff to help elevate, you know, the game of golf, diversify, you know, in terms of the look, the feel, the players, etcetera. And, you know, bring it all forward for the game. And so the first, brand that, really caught my eye was the team from for all. So they are revolutionizing women's clothing, and style when it comes to the game of golf. and they are the perfect example of a modern woman's golf, brand. and they've got a complete line of apparel golf products for the contemporary female golfer. So if you, know me or spend any time with me, I. While I do like bright colors, and you can, if you're ever on a zoom call, you can see the, sort of bright, hence the name painting behind me. But I do like clean, simple and symmetry. And so aesthetically, for all, personally, just aligns to my sort of clean, simple, lines. there's definitely a bit of pop and flare in terms of their designs, but, if you go on their website, you can clearly see that their design language is white and green as their palette, and it's represented, in terms of all the, you know, soft goods, hard goods that they put out, the website look and feel. I also think they're doing some really fun stuff in terms of their marketing campaigns with women of all ages. And, you can see it in terms of just their YouTube and sort of Instagram videos, as well as sort of the videos that they've got on their website, which I think is kind of tongue in cheek and kind of fun in terms of just women doing it. Right. kudos to the co founders there. I don't know them personally. we have reached out. We're hoping to get them onto the show or get someone from their team onto the show. And that's really the idea here, is to really highlight these brands and then, you know, hopefully get people on the show to talk about it. but, go over to Dailey blend and you can go read the show notes, for this episode and you can read more about. For all. And, for all our female listeners, highly recommend you going and checking them out and all for our male listeners. If you got a special lady in your life, don't forget to check it out because there might be some golf, swag in, the future for that lady in your life.

Dailey blend is developing a brand aimed at 35 and up golfers

All right, so let's jump into what's going on with the golf project. So I guess in order of operation, we maybe could have started with the golf project. I think, you know, next week we will. But, for those newer to the golf project, you know, the whole idea here was that, you know, we, as folks, one of my, I'm all millennial grew, up with kind of like everything from hip hop and EDM to Kobe and Jordan sneakers. But then you've got sort of like you know, you're coming into the years where you're, you know, a parent, you gotta look a little crisper, but you still have sort of 1ft in the door with, feeling like a kid or at least dressing, you know, like you're not a full grown up. And then the other foot of it's time to grow up. And that's how I feel most of the time. So, you know, I'm the Jordans with the blazer on type of guy. And so, you know, we've been trying to figure out, like, what's the right way to put something out in the marketplace that aligns to the needs of, you know, the middle age, but the 35 and up golfer that's looking for, you know, the playfulness of what they love and sort of, I'll call it street culture or kind of weekend warriors, but also, you know, needs to look and feel certain way and dress a certain way and have clean, clean lines. Similar, to what we talked about with, for all right. It's just like, how do we have this elevated, style and performance that meets your needs and that can take you from, you know, soccer practice to the golf course to dinner and back? And so what we're doing is we're designing in public. You're going to hear that term a, ton on this show over the next six months or so. And so what we've done is we've got sort of two things going right now. We've got a survey you can take that kind of just looks for preferences on, on and off the golf course in terms of brands, products, designs, things like that. Once, again, it's all these things are linked into the, show notes post at Daileyblend. So just go to Daileyblend.com and look for the show and you'll be able to find it. And then we've put together a microsite so you can follow along the process on Dailey blend. You can follow along on our YouTube channel, through Dailey blend. And then, we put together a microsite. So I thought that was pretty cool in terms of just putting all the posts together. So we've got a couple posts already up. We've got the, for all brand feature. We'll continue to push all the brand features that we're doing in and around golf up there. And then, in terms of Instagram and hashtags, you can follow around, follow along with the Dailey, golf project. and, you know, the whole idea is to design in public. So if you've got ideas, about the brand, look, feel, supply chain, logistics brands to look forward to. Dm me hit us up at read, at Dailey blend and yeah, really excited to get it going.

We've been featuring weekly, Dailey meeting minutes templates on Dailey blend

we've been talking about the next, up we got the optimization playbook and toolkit. And so you know, the last like six, eight weeks we've been featuring you know, the sort of like weekly, Dailey meeting minutes template. And so what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna find a place to house those on Dailey blend. We'll link to them. I think they're in pretty good shape in terms of like the look and the feel. I wanna make one or two more tweaks but those are pretty much like ready to go, in terms of, you know, being able to print those up on canva. I think what I'm gonna do down the road is make everything a coda template. So if you're less familiar with coda, it's kind of like a notion or like onenote on steroids and be able to have it working, where you can kind of basically just clone it and then use it.

I wanted to create a way to track everything I'm working on

In terms of the tracker, the next one that I wanted to create, this is like my little working title of it. it's called Little Ask. And so I constantly get asked to help on projects and little request and they add up. And then at the end of the year cycle or whatever, people are like, you know, what'd you do? How are you successful, you know, in anything that I'm doing? And it's like a way to just track everything I'm working on. and you could argue that's what a task tracker is. And this is a little more nuanced than that. I think with a task tracker those are very tactical and this is much more like a broader, sort of encompassing, strategic. So what I'm doing is I put my version together in I've got one version going in Microsoft Loop. I'm going to create another version in coda because it doesn't really work in canva and then maybe one in Google Doc. So we'll have like three different versions or two different versions that are active. So I got this idea from someone else on Instagram that was selling it for something m absurd, like $30. I was like, this is basic excel looked at the picture and sort of thought about it for a little bit. And so I was like, okay, I can sort of do my version of this and I'm pretty happy with it. I started using it, last week, and it's working great for me. So, that will be up. Those, templates will be up later this week. And like I said, we're gonna find a way to put all of the sort of templates that we're creating in a single place. So they'll probably be different versions based on, you know, the file type or that's not the platform is probably the right way to say that. So, like, canva, google sheet, notion, or coda, etcetera, etcetera.

We've got, uh, new stuff from drink with Greg coming up

In terms of, moving along, we've got, new stuff from drink with Greg. what I've done is I've just linked sort of the drink of the week, book of the week there. so I just, you know, head over to drink, of the drink with Greg. We actually, just put in our first, order for hats. So we've been talking about this for a while, and I was the one dragging my feet. So we're going to go with a hat manufacturer. it's going to take about 30 days. The idea is that we're going to get our first batch of, I think, 20 hats in. And so we're going to sell those online and then give a few away as part of like, a promotional thing. And then we want to get feedback on them to get ready for Negroni week, in the fall. So that's the big thing. And then, I'm recording this Tuesday morning. So we've got Tuesday night Negroni's coming up, so if you're new around here, the idea was that, you know, Greg and I do these shows, and we typically ended up recording on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. And we were like, how do we make this sort of fun for everyone and kind of building it with the community? So we moved over to Tuesday night Negroni's for hashtagging. And so just be on the lookout. I'm on the road today, so I think I'm going to be doing a Tuesday night Negroni from south Georgia. Let's hope that whatever bar I land at a restaurant has one of or has the three ingredients I need. And if not, I might need to go find, like, a, you know, liquor store that has the tip top cocktail, since Yanni and team are based out of, you know, Atlanta. So my hope is that they have distributors all over Georgia. Don't, forget to check us out, with the drink with Greg, and the Negronis with Greg podcast that are available on Apple Podcast and Spotify and of course, DWG and NWG are on Instagram and X. And you can check us out at Drink with Greg or drink with G. thank you, x, for not having enough characters, there.

The newsletter continues to grow in terms of popularity

In terms of the Friday night, Friday night, Friday, top five, you know, continuing to pump this home that it's a newsletter now, I'm actually thinking about kind of going in two directions that we'll post it and then make it a newsletter. And the only reason I'm thinking about that is because I want the metadata, but then I don't get the gated asset. So it's like. It's a conundrum here. It's a conundrum. So, for the time being, we're going to continue it down to the newsletter, and then, maybe we'll think about bringing it back to a non newsletter format. But, you know, don't forget to sign up for all the goodness. the newsletter continues to grow in terms of popularity. And, you know, it's, we're obviously, now that we're in the throes of the summer, expect a lot more golf content from me on that. And, yeah, with that said, don't forget to check out episode 153 of the, Dailey Blend podcast. That's the house music, podcast. So if you're looking for music to kind of work, too, and kind of get through, don't forget to check that out. We've got new music coming out on music Mondays for the next month. And, you know, with that said, thanks for tuning in. don't forget to, like, follow. Subscribe to the show. You can also follow me on Instagram Ed Dailey. I'm going to be on the road a lot lately, so you can kind of follow along on the adventures. And we'll be doing a little more on the road series through the Dailey blend. So thanks for tuning in, and we'll catch you on the next episode.
