Instagram and X and with all that said, let's jump into this week's show. So had a jam packed last week and I'm walking into an even busier week. We've got events going on in Chicago last week, events going on in Boston this week, and we just wrapped up the masters. But before we talk about golf, I want to just jump into the fact.

All right, so last week.

Let's try this again. Hey everyone, welcome back to the Dailey Blend show with me, Reid Daly. If you're new around here, this is the rundown where we feature what's going on in the worldwide.

Hey everyone, welcome back to the Dailey Blend Show with me, Reed Dailey If you are new around here, this is the rundown where we feature what's going on around the globe across Dailey Blend, special projects I'm involved with and much more. And you can find me at Reed Dailey on Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and pretty much everywhere else. With all that out of the way, let's jump into the show. So we had an incredible master's weekend. it was by far in my lifetime, the most interesting top to bottom field of competitors and the most interesting, four days of golf where there's ups and downs, winners, losers.

changing of leaderboards, counting players out until the very end when they jump back in. And it was incredible. Rory McIlroy, who has been under the gun, I will call it from the press, because he hasn't won big in 10 years, was feeling a ton of pressure. He has performed terribly at Augusta over the last couple of years. And he started out pretty good, had a couple hiccups.

Justin Rose was doing fantastic throughout the week. Freddie Couples was doing amazing throughout the week. Bryson DeChambeau sort of came on strong but then didn't finish as strong as he had hoped. Scotty Scheffler was up and down all weekend, ironically finishing I think fourth or fifth. But at the end Rory actually won and...

As my wife said, he is an ugly crier and someone should tell him not to. But, you know, I thought the, you know, the fact that they were able to go into a playoff and that Justin Rose hit a fantastic tee shot when, you know, there was a ton of pressure and then Rory sort of stepped up and hit an even better tee shot. And then they were able to.

you know, both get within, I don't know, five, 10 feet from the hole with Rory actually getting even a little closer. You kind of knew on that second shot Rory was going to make it. But, you know, what I found more interesting than the actual golf event was the fact that you heard very little mention of the live golf versus PGA. And I'm hearing less and less of this. And I wonder, does that mean we're closer to

getting a resolution here or does like just the fans and everyone not care as much and it's not as big of an impact as we initially thought. But either way, it was a fantastic Masters. I went last year, I'm wearing my Masters gear today and I want to go back. I saw all my friends on Instagram, I saw everyone with all the swag and it's an expensive ticket and I got to find a way to make this an annual or semi-annual or sorry, annual or every other year.

So if you're listening to this show and you have tickets or access to tickets, please let me know and we will find a way to do some bartering, buying, whatever, so that I can get to Augusta next year. All right, let's talk about what was going on with me last week. So last week I had the opportunity to moderate a panel presentation at Stern Pinball facility or factory.

in Chicagoland area. And I'll call it opportunity to sort of MC a panel presentation versus discussion. So I think there's really two sort of types of panels. One that's like much more of a dialogue and sort of a Q &A with a moderator, guests, and sort of more back and forth. And this was less of that and more of, I will call it like an economic update, kind of a point of view. And I found it interesting because

We had four panelists: an economist, we had a banker, we had an FX trader, and then we had a producer, the gentleman who owns and runs Stern Pinball Factory. And as we've had some ups and downs in terms of tariffs,

tariff sort of claims or mandates from the president and that sort of changed. You know, there's been different levers that businesses are pulling or not pulling and it was really just fun and interesting to hear different perspectives from those different sort of stakeholder groups. And as we start to think about what's to come in terms of bringing back jobs, more importantly, manufacturing jobs domestically.

What does that look like? Like, do we look for all manufacturing jobs? Are we looking for specific niches like defense contracts, things that are more like electronics? Like, what's the right mix? And that was part of what I was walking into the evening, kind of trying to get a little more sense of. Thanks to the folks from FEI Chicago who allowed me to emcee the night. It was my first time.

Being involved with FEI, much less FEI Chicago, just nice people. And it was interesting to me on a personal note because I spent so much time in and around the transaction world that when there were about, I think, 120 people attending, mostly CFOs, I knew very few of the people, even though they're all in Chicago, I thought I would have crossed paths. And it was nice to meet new

New people. Did see a few familiar faces from the Associated Bank team and look forward to doing more with the FEI group both here in Chicago and in other markets. So once again, thanks for having me. And if you have never checked out Stern Pinballs, highly recommend going to their website. They have some amazing titles, and we get to walk around that facility a little bit. We didn't get to go on the manufacturing floor, but they had

Tons of pinball machines out. They had a football field of space where we were able to hang out, play pinball machines, get to know people. It was a really fantastic experience that was better than I would call it, just like a corporate hall where you've got a projector and people are meeting and mingling. Let's talk about what's going on. I mentioned continuing the personal tip here.

Last week on the show, I mentioned that I was going into my quarterly review. One of the things that I did at the beginning of the year was set goals, but I didn't necessarily have the best framework. And, I've recently gone through this exercise at work where we did a very detailed oriented sort of financial goals. And then what are the strategies? What is the value prop? What are the tools?

Tactics, metrics, and measures. I really enjoyed this framework and way of thinking and doing in terms of getting goals organized. So, over the last week, I've taken that framework and applied it to all the goals that I'm trying to achieve this year across personal wellness, Dailey Blend Show Sherrod and family, and Lewis Manning.

One of the things that I wanted to talk about was, what are some of the tools that I'm using? So I use just basic Excel for sharing that sort of framework. It goes basically in columns, and it starts with, what is the goal? What are the strategies? What are the tactics, tools, metrics, and measures? And then in terms of other things I'm using, I'm just using some Google Docs for tracking things.

Everything from my wellness and eating and sleeping patterns to how often I'm doing certain things that I've been trying to do in terms of habits and different activities. And then, in terms of technology, I'm using a chronometer for my wellness tracking. So I basically enter all my food and workouts in a chronometer, and then I transpose that over to a Google Doc.

I could leave it in chronometers. I like it better in Google Docs. For golf, I'm using Garmin's app. We talked about this last week on the show regarding the R1 and some of the data there. Then, for social tracking, I'm using Data Box. And then, for a website, I'm using a combination of data coming off of GoDaddy's Aero platform and Squarespace for Dailey Blend. The idea here is that I want to

YouI'm kind of with the logic; it's not measured, and it's not managed. So I really wantedto take a professional approach to my own quarterly, business review. And if you're interested in the sort of tools and Excel framework, just DM me, send me a note, and I'll share those with you. You know, I wouldn't say it's rocket science, but it was super helpful when I saw the format, and I really enjoyed using it. Going from.

Let's go back to one of the goals: to reach 85 in a round of golf. I've been playing golf for a while now. I have some really great rounds and some terrible rounds, and I just want to be better and really be proud of my game. I took some lessons, I've talked about that on the show, and now I got the R10 from Garmin. So it's a $500 launch monitor and simulator.

It's this little thing about the size of an iPhone, a little thicker than that, and it comes in a carrying pouch. I have a buddy who's got a whole setup, so I went over to his house and got to check it out. He's got the R1 or R10. He actually upgraded to a better Bushnell system that was a couple of grand. And so he's got the simulator or launch monitor connected to an Apple TV.

Through or sorry, it goes R1 to iPad, iPad to Apple TV, Apple TV to projector, projector onto the wall, and he's got a whole setup, and it was amazing. Then, if he wants to jump up to his Bushmills one, it goes Bushmills into a Mac studio computer and then from the Mac studio Bluetooth or sorry airdropped over to the Apple TV and then back to the projector. Both setups were great.

And it was cool to spend two and a half hours with a buddy in his garage. We had a TV with Sonos surround sound, and with the masters on, we were hitting balls. And two and a half hours was like just a blink of an eye, and it was done. So I'm to be trying to set up probably not as robust of a setup to start, but I'm going to be doing something with the R10 in my garage. And I had the opportunity to bring it to the range for the first time. So I thought it was really cool.

you know, I want, you know, I took a lesson and I really know what I'm doing wrong. I'm not necessarily saying I have all the parts to fix it, but at least I know what I'm doing wrong and a little more cognizant of that. And so the R1 comes with a little clip for your iPhone that then also clips onto your bag. So I'm literally just hitting shots and you can see like a launch monitor kind of like you would see at a golf simulator, or you can just have it do like a big image.

So I was looking at distance, club head speed, and I was looking at club head direction, because I'm slicing the ball. And I hit 87 balls, pretty consistent in terms of my spray pattern. And it was really great to see all that data. And I don't think I'm going to go to the range without a launch monitor moving forward. It's just too helpful and handy to have that. And I like having the data.

If you want to follow me on golf, obviously I'll put a few pictures and things on Instagram at Reed Dailey, but you can also check me out on Fair Game at Reed Dailey. That's an app I've talked about in the past that I really like. was created by Ben who launched Udinky, one of my favorite watch websites. You can also find me on the JIN app at my number is 267-645-0. My handicap is terrible.

It was 15, it dropped down to 18. I think I'm a better player than my handicap, but if you have a member guest, you're a guy because my handicap's terrible right now, but I think I'm playing a little better. All right, let's go from talking about my crummy golf game to things that I'm getting better at with golf, which is Sheridan. So right after I recorded the show last week,

I got a doorbell ring, was DHL with my package. And we got the third round of samples. we've done round one was polo shirts, round two was three quarter lengths. We've done some hats, which I'm not considering in the apparel rounds. And this is the third round of apparel, second round of polo. So the material is much better. I didn't like the material we got last time. It was too thin and too shiny. We did one that was white with a

pattern and then the other one which was dark blue. What I learned is all these shirts are actually printed. So you can get the colorful fabric but all the patterns are like almost like a printer would print. And so this was just stripes but down the road we're going to create some really fun graphics and have some custom graphics done on the shirts. But in terms of the shirts I thought the shoulders and chest felt great. The arms were a little short and then the body was just a little

wide I thought it could be a little more trim so trying to decide if we're going to keep that one for sort of like our classic cut and then do something a little trimmer talking to the manufacturer today to sort of dial that in and then we've got gloves on their way and those are sample gloves so the idea is that we'll launch with hats gloves shirts t-shirts to start and then we'll expand the collection the goal right now is to launch Sheridan by July 4th

and do some fun stuff for, you know, 4th of July, which will be red, white, and blue. We'll be posting stuff. I've been talking about it. But you can check it out on Instagram at Sheridan Clothers. You can also follow along. If you go to dailyblend.com forward slash golf dash project, you can follow along. I'll have all the show show links.

or sorry, links in the show notes. In terms of getting on the road, I am traveling this week. I will be in Boston. Actually, I'll be in Chicago, downtown Chicago on Monday, and then I'll be in Boston this week. Be doing two different events. One is mastering the sales process. So this is for not just necessarily first time founders, but founders who have been

you know, owners and operators for a long time who are thinking about having a liquidity or capital event. And, you know, what is the sort of frameworks you need as you're thinking about either exiting your business or bringing on a capital partner. The second thing is Wednesday night, which is an ACG Boston event mentioned last week. This is the first ACG event in Boston for me in 2025.

It's a whiskey tasting and networking. So two things I like, which is whiskey and chatting with folks. So excited to get back there, see everyone. It's been a minute since I've been to Boston. Usually I was there a little more frequent last year. But we'll get back to getting back there more often. That wraps it up for the show. You can check me out on Instagram, X, LinkIn at Read Dailey.
