“Little Ask” Tracker

I constantly get asked to help on projects, and the asks always take more time than the requester thinks they should. They also ask to compile and add up. So, thanks to a little bit of help from other Canva notion templates. I have developed my own. There are two tabs: the first is the individual tracker, and the second is the summary one.

Transcription - Dailey Blend Show Updates Website, Launches Video

Host Reed Dailey (IG & X - @ReedDailey): This is the weekly rundown segment of the Daily Blend Show

Hey, everyone. Welcome back to the Dailey Blend show with me, Reed Dailey. This is the weekly rundown for the week of July 22, 2022. And if you are new around here, where we feature what's going on across Dailey blend, special projects, and the World Wide web of media, entertainment, and business. Before we jump in the show, I want to remind you that you can get all episodes on Apple Podcast, Spotify, Google Podcast, YouTube, and if you're a social person, check us out on Instagram and x.

Dailey Blend aims to help golfers find the perfect blend of performance and style

All that out of the way, let's jump into the show. Over the last three months, we kicked off the Dailey Blend golf project, and the tagline is, let the adventure begin. So, today's player. So, just let me give you a little context, then I'll give you a little bit more about what we're doing here. So, today's players grew up loving Jordan, Kobe, hip hop, EDM, but also have kids of their own. So it's a combination of kicks in their closet and kicks in their kids closets. On top of that, they're busier than ever. and they need gear that aligns to a lifestyle that goes from meetings to Zoom calls to the course to date night. as a fellow enthusiast, I understand that struggle, that we're all facing, trying, to find golf clothes and accessories that perfectly blend performance and style. And we have the opportunity to change that all and to develop that missing gap in your golf and lifestyle toolkit or arsenal, however you want to call it. So what we're doing is we're building in public. We are exploring what is going on in the golf world, and we're going to have a little bit of fun and build a few things and make a few things along the way. I believe the kids call it building in public. So, if you're interested, you can follow along with the creative process. We've put together a microsite, and you're able to follow all the things that we're doing, as well as some of the other brands that we're going to be featuring and spotlighting, which get into in a little bit. we haven't yet, but we're planning on putting out some YouTube content on the Dailey blend, YouTube channel. So be on the lookout for that. And then if you are on Instagram, you can follow on, with the hashtag, hashtag Daileygolf project. Don't forget, there is an e in there. So that's dai l e y. and then we've got an open survey that we've intentionally kept open. it's around. Just what are your preferences with brands, on and off the golf course. And a lot of the data that we've been able to ascertain through this has been really insightful in terms of which brands we should spotlight, products we should explore things that we should, dive deeper into. So we're going to be building in public here. you're going to see much more content on the microsite for the Dailey Blend project, both in terms of original content as well as brand spotlight content.

This week's brand spotlight, we're introducing Sunday golf

That is a perfect segue for me to jump into our brand spotlight feature. So one of the big things that I always found endearing when I was growing up was the community aspect of learning from, let's called it elder statesmen and, you know, community members. And I always did this at, record labels or not record labels, record stores. So I started going to Princeton record Exchange. Then when I moved down to Atlanta, I went to satellite, records. And I always liked the fact that you could go talk to the store clerks, which I now equate to, like, basically an Apple store employee, with their knowledge about what's coming, what's working, what's not. they would always tell you who are the new dj's, who are the new producers, etc, etcetera. I always appreciated that and loved that. you know, I think that's probably why in a modern era, I love conferences. You know, because of COVID the idea of going to the office is sort of over, and going for dinners just doesn't happen as frequently. And conferences are now the new kind of way to meet people and connect and kind of build a community. And so I'm trying to sort of take the best of what I loved about going to a record store, what I loved about meeting people and doing this in a digital format. And so I'm coming about it in two ways. The first is, you know, week by week, I'm basically just doing a brand spotlight of, brands that I like. And then throughout that process, definitely trying to reach out to those brands and other brands to get them onto the, podcast here, and have them join us in the sound off segment to really talk about their brand, what they're seeing in the ecosystem and community, at large. And so for the, this week's brand, spotlight, we're going to be introducing Sunday golf. And so it's where golfing is more than just a game. It's about camaraderie for this brand. before the next round, after the next round, sitting in the cart, shaking hands, the 19th hole. I came about this brand from funny or interesting story. So for my corporate swag guy, for my day job, I was looking for some great swag for, you know, clients, and prospects. And I just didn't like anything that I was seeing. It all felt like, you know, cheap corporate crap. And then, you know, I said to my guy, you know, send me. Like, there's got to be more out there. So I get the Callaway magazine and the Titleist magazine, and I love both brands, but I see it all the time. And I was like, there's got to be more. And so he put me on to Sunday golf, and I loved it. They have, you know, tour bags, regular bags, and then I think they call it their Sunday edition. but it's basically like a par three municourse range ah, bag that you can carry around. You're not going to bring as many clubs. You're just sort of having fun with your friends. They obviously have some hats and accessories, but they also have, like, little small knickknack bags and coolers for your beers and you can do, low mins and throw your logo on them. And I just thought that was, like, such a great strategy for them to go both b two c and b two b. And it was something that really resonated with me and something that, like, I'm thinking much more about now that we're sort of building in public. So, you know, if you go into the weekly rundown post, you can see, like, a little blurb or you can go over to the micro site and read up on Sunday, ah, golf. and, I think you guys are going to really like this brand. I know I have, in terms of the sound off segment, we've been talking about this for a number of weeks, and it's really just a result of me being on the road a lot and nothing sitting down in front of a computer. So I'm about to go finish, recording this and head right to the airport. And my hope is that I can finish the intro part to the Rachel J. Sound off podcast. We recorded this, like, two months ago. And so, Rachel, if you are hearing this, I am so sorry. We're going to get it up there. Fantastic.

Rachel and I had a great conversation about Chicago cocktails and styling

q and a with, Rachel, one of my favorite stylists that I met, you know, ten years ago, in Chicago. And really, it was a great conversation just to hear what she's doing, what's going on in Chicago, what's going on around the country as she's kind of leveraged technology to grow her business, from a styling standpoint, ah, around, the country, with customers of all different, lifestyles and kind of, stages of their life, which I thought was really super interesting. So be on the lookout for that conversation in terms of drink with Greg. you know, been in Chicago a ton for meetings and one of the big things that I loved was this rpm, Chicago summer old fashioned, which is comprised of sazerac, rye, orange, Demerara and rhubarb bitters. and sorry, I jumped right into drink with Greggs. Negroni with Greggs. You know, this is the project with one of my best mates and, you know, we basically created a podcast, Negronis with Greg. And then we created a website called Drink with Greg. And we feature cocktails, spirits, wine, and accessories. And you know, we try to kind of use this as a mechanism for he and I to connect on the show and to kind of get into, you know, spirits, and mixology more. And back to the drink. So, RPM is a steakhouse in Chicago. This cocktail, I don't want to call it the perfect summer drink, but I thought it was the perfect summer old fashioned. you know, I've had a bunch of old fashions in the summer and sometimes I like them, sometimes I'm just like, just give me a glass of wine, give me some tequila, some vodka. But this really hit well and I liked it a lot.

Drink With Greg / Negronis With Greg

in terms of what else is going on over at drink with Greg, we've been a little quiet, but, I want to highlight the, the San Francisco cocktail book, an elegant collection of a hundred recipes inspired by the city, by the bayou. I'm about to head back out to San Francisco in two weeks, and so getting geared up for that trip and starting to read this book a little more, just to get fired up about the trip and try to find maybe one or two places to, bring guests. While I'm out there, don't forget about our Tuesday night Negronis. He's been a big hit. this is just a way for, you know, the community to share what they're drinking. So every Tuesday night, Greg and I, make sure that we have a Negroni, each. And we share some images over on x and ig hash Tuesday night Negronis. So don't forget to check that out. And, you know, with all that, we've got the podcast and we've got the the YouTube channel set up so you can check out the drink with Greg and the Negronis with Greg podcast both on Spotify and, and Apple Music. in terms of life optimization playbook, we're continuing to grow these playbooks.

I'm working on a tracker to track all the little things people do

Next up is the little ass tracker. I constantly get asked to help on projects, and, the ask is always like a little m more than it should be. It's like, oh, can you just do this? But you don't realize that that just takes up a ton of time. And so what I'm trying to do is put together a tracker in notion or coda, not sure yet. And canva, I'm, playing around on formatting, but it's really trying to say, like, how do I track all the, like, little ass that people give me all the time to say, okay, here's all the things that I've done Dailey, weekly, quarterly, yearly. And so part of this is like at, my year end of just saying, like, okay, what did I do for people? What did they do for me? You know, how have I tracked my time? Am I using my time? What can I augmented? When can I outsource that sort of thing? So it'll be cool to see this come together and I'll let you guys know when is up and ready to go.

Don't forget to subscribe to the Dailey Blend newsletter every Friday

in terms of the Friday top five, the last episode, we featured some great stuff over about, this new newsletter on paddle tennis from an Atlantic writer here in Chicago. I featured the, my new favorite, like, little app called Scan my phone or. Sorry, hi. Hello. I apologize. The service allows you to scan, phone, and share contact information. I've used it a couple times. It's working great. from my hometown heroes, we've got the JDR wine and beer experience, up in Lake Bluff, and, the Express, Martini on demand RTD drink. So it's like a one two punch with, the JDR wine and beer store. they've got the new location, and then the RTG drinks from post meridian cocktail group, also out of Atlanta. and I say also out of Atlanta, meaning they're in Atlanta and so are my good friends over at Tip Top. Don't forget to subscribe to the Dailey Blend newsletter, that comes out every Friday. And it's really become one of my favorite sort of, things to do. you know, I've been much more thematic with the, ah, newsletter and not, to say that that's necessarily going to stick around, but it's just feels like where I'm going for the next little bit of there's always a theme to it, and so don't, forget to subscribe. we keep on increasing the number of subscribers, which means I'm doing something right. and, like I said, it's fun to put together, closing it out. We've got a ton of music up from music Mondays. We've got a ton of dj sets from the sophisticated DJ's Bobby Ganache, the DJ and cooking duo flavor trip, ah, with their ultimate summer soundtrack. Been listening to that a ton lately. We've, got some really down tempo gems with, DJ Sena Hill. We featured her before, and I just always love her down tempo vibes. I believe she's out of Japan, but don't hold, don't quote me on that. And then we've got the, almost weekend project with Jacob and, the almost weekend project. You know, I gotta dig into this because they've got, you know, DJ sets, but then they also have, you know, some Q and a about startups, which, you know, obviously with, you know, this show, I jump around on different topics, so I can't hate on it, but I almost feel like they need two different YouTube channels. And that's just looking at it. But let me double click into this before I pass judgment. all that, music is available, obviously on Daileyblend.com, for all those artists, don't forget to, you know, follow them on Soundcloud and Instagram. Not only is that just, like, give a little ego boost, but it does help them from a booking standpoint when they're trying to show promoters why they should book them based on their audience, and number, of followers.

Well, that wraps it up for this week's episode of the weekly rundown. Thanks for tuning in, as always. Don't forget to, like, follow, subscribe to the show. And don't forget to find us on X and Instagram. We're going to be doing a bit more, stories content and some reels content. So fired up to kind of play around with that a bit more. and we'll be getting more into video on the second half of, 2024. Check you guys out on the next episode and enjoy, the rest of your week. Thanks for tuning in.
